Privacy Policy

Information collected by Pantaenius America Ltd. and/or its affiliates (collectively, "Pantaenius"):

Pantaenius collects non-public personal information about you from the following sources:

  • Applications or forms submitted by you;
  • Information about your transactions with Pantaenius;
  • Information Pantaenius receives from a consumer reporting agency, such as, for example, a Motor Vehicle Report;
  • Information you provide or which is obtained through the process of handling claims, including medical information, such as, for example, from an accident report.

Pantaenius may use "cookies" (small text files transferred from Pantaenius’s web-site to your hard drive) to recognize repeat users of its web-site, track usage and facilitate your access to and use of the web-site. Pantaenius does not use cookies to gather personal information. Pantaenius does not link cookies to identifiable information, such as your policy number.

Unless it is specifically stated otherwise in an amended Privacy Policy Notice, no additional information will be collected about you.

Information Pantaenius may disclose:

During the course of its business, Pantaenius may disclose the information that it collects about you without your permission to the following types of institutions, for the reasons described below:

  • To any third party, if the disclosure will enable that party to perform a business, professional or insurance function for Pantaenius;
  • To an insurance regulatory, law enforcement, or other governmental authority, for regulatory compliance, the detection or prevention of fraud, or as otherwise required or allowed by law;
  • To a financial institution, agent, or credit reporting agency, for either this agency or the entity to whom Pantaenius discloses the information to perform a function in connection with an insurance transaction involving you;
  • To a group policyholder, for the purpose of reporting claims, experience or conducting an audit of Pantaenius‘ business.

In addition to the above mentioned circumstances, Pantaenius may disclose certain information about you to third parties who intend to use the information for purposes of marketing a product or service, unless you object to such disclosure. Under no circumstances will Pantaenius disclose for marketing purposes any medical information, information relating to a claim for benefit or, a civil or criminal proceeding involving you, or personal information relating to your character, personal habits, mode of living or general reputation.

Notification that certain disclosures require your authorization:

The law allows Pantaenius to disclose your personal information in the circumstances described above without your permission. FOR ALL OTHER DISCLOSURES, PANTAENIUS IS REQUIRED TO OBTAIN YOUR AUTHORIZATION. The disclosures that require your authorization are listed on a separate authorization form to be provided to you at a later date.

Information obtained from a report prepared by a consumer reporting agency may be retained by that organization and disclosed to other persons.

Your right to access and amend your personal information:

You have the right to request access to the personal information that you provide Pantaenius. Your rights includes the right to know the sources of the information and the identity of the persons, institutions or types of institutions to whom Pantaenius has disclosed such information within 2 years prior to your request. Your right includes the right to view such information and copy it in person, or request that a copy of it be sent to you by mail (for which Pantaenius may charge you a reasonable fee). Your right also includes the right to request corrections, amendments or deletions of any information in Pantaenius‘ possession. The following is the procedure to be followed in order to request access to or amend your information:

To obtain access to your information, submit a request in writing that includes your name, address, social security number, telephone number, and the recorded information to which you would like access. The request should state whether you would like access in person or a copy of the information sent to you by mail. Upon receipt of your request, Pantaenius will comply within 30 business days.

To correct, amend or delete any of your information, submit a request in writing that includes your name, address, social security number, telephone number, the specific information in dispute, and the identity of document or record that contains the disputed information. Upon receipt of your request, Pantaenius will contact you within 30 business days to notify you either that the correction, amendment or deletion were made, or that was made refuses to do so and the reasons for the refusal, which you will have an opportunity to challenge.

Pantaenius restricts access to non-public personal information about you to those employees who need to know that information in order to provide products or services to you. Pantaenius maintains physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards that comply with federal regulations to guard your personal information.
